WTKA International is the World Traditional Karate, Kickboxing and all Martial Arts Association. WTKA International organizes and hosts the annual Unified World Championships held in Carrara, Italy. The championships welcomes over 5000 athletes from 107 countries. With the growth of WTKA International, karate has become an autonomous sector (WTKA Karate - www.karate-wtka.com) within WTKA International. WTKA Canada is a member of WTKA Karate and WTKA International.
WTKA Canada is a democratic body that recognizes the opportunity for all to enjoy Martial Arts and Combat Sports for its continuous development. Our aim is to create an environment where all its members can cooperate in perfect harmony, with no politics, for the development of Martial Arts. To encourage, promote, represent, develop, support and communicate the benefits of martial arts throughout Canada and to raise the sporting profile and perception of the art.
WTKA Canada accepts more than one federation or association per country and respects all world karate federations. Our mission is to develop karate across Canada and provide the opportunity for all students to compete in international events. This includes supporting and promoting all styles of karate and providing a forum and framework for members to become certified internationally through our Instructor, Examiner and Referee certifications and be part of like-minded community on a global scale.
